The emergence of microsystem offered a tool to analyze the biophysical and
biochemical functions of individual cells for biosensing, disease
diagnostics, drug screening and fundamental research. With the rapid
expansion and eagerly need for stem--‐cell based regenerative medicine,
introducing microsystem to the stem cell research allows to locate, culture,
and reprogram stem cells under a highly--‐ controlled microenvironments,
including geometrical restriction, surface biochemistry, extracellular
matrix (ECM) composites, and cell--‐cell interactions. Therefore,
researchers have the ability to systematically and statistically determine
the stem cell behaviors with high reproducibility, high--‐throughput manner
and precise spatiotemporal controls. In this special issue, we would like
to invite these significant researchers in the related areas to report their
achievements on BioNanoScience.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Reconfigurable cultures
• Micro-well confinement
• Cell contact on patterned surfaces
• Microfluidic systems for co-culture
• Stem Cells characterization
• Elastomeric substrates
• Microfluidic systems for cell sorting, cell pairing and fusion
• Biochips for stem cell characterization and application
Authors should submit previously unpublished papers to the manuscript
