The Interdisciplinary Institute for Personalized Medicine in Brain Disorders
at Jinan University (with over 100 years history, 211 University, campus
located in the center of Guangzhou) seeks one or two outstanding researchers
(open ranks,
with Bianzhi) to complement and extend institution and campus-wide research
in the areas of neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases (Alzheimer’s
disease, depression, ALS, traumatic brain injury) and their therapy,
especially by use of the personalized traditional medicine. Research
incorporating contemporary molecular and systems neuroscience approaches,
including virally-based circuit tracing, electrophysiology, optogenetic
manipulation, are encouraged. Strong background in cutting-edge molecular
biology technology, metabolism-immune-disease, model systems including C.
elegance and mouse genetics, epigenetics and microbiome are highly desired.
Successful candidates are expected to play a leading role in neurobiological
research surrounding the institutional projects on mechanisms and
therapeutic targets of major brain disorders, develop and maintain an
independent, extramurally funded research program, and obtain provincial and
national supports for Talent Development Programs. The department and
campus have state-of-the-art laboratories, core facilities, such as 9.4T MRI
scanner and small animal PET.
We offer competitive salary and start-up packages on the basis of academic
achievements of the candidates. Non-tenure positions and postdoctoral are
also available. Candidates must have a PhD and be a good team player. For
