Description:
Research efforts for this project will include participation in multi-
disciplinary efforts in a nationally recognized training program in support
of the FDA’s mission. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to
participate in studies to identify types of microorganisms contaminated in
the
FDA-concerned commercial products. The major focus of this effort will be
with identification of microorganisms detected in FDA-concerned products
based on morphology and 16S rRNA sequence and determination and analysis of
whole genome sequence of microorganisms identified
as a human pathogen.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate should have received a Master's degree or doctoral
degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Cellular and Molecular Biology or
related areas. Degree must have been received within five years.
Preferred skills:
-Demonstrated experience in the area of Microbiology, Immunology, Toxicology
Molecular and Cellular Biology.
-Prior experience on microbial experiments, especially on microbial
isolation and classification.
-Experience on genome sequencing and analysis in microbial experiments,
especially on microbial isolation and classification.
-Good communication (oral and written) abilities.
