I. The Sharpest knife
Being the sharpest knife
hasn't made me feel less hurt;
to replace one horror with another,
another leash on the neck.
This place has gone complete dark
but for moonshine on a pool of blood
the reflection, beautiful as it may seem
is too cruel to be true.
II. The lack of the mountains
From that time onward,
they were just distant shapes against the sky,
not something transfused with green and closer to the stars at night.
