如果没有美国军方在两次世界大战期间对工业心理学（主要是人员选拔、培训和安置）
的巨大投入（军队最富裕的是什么？钱和人。都是心理学研究的必需品），美国心理学
也不至于目前这么傲视全球。

in applying psychology in industry. Chances came when US needed to select a
large quantity of sodiers for WWI and WWII. So a group of psychologists were
hired by the US army to collect data on intelligence, personality, etc.
Tons and tons of data were collected. It also helped spread psychology.
In addition, human factors (part of I/O that deals with designing machines
to fit human physiological and psychological needs)

Sometimes, even the survival of the discipline depends on it. This is the
case with psychology in China.
During the years of cultrual revolution, psychology was denounced as a
capitalist's theory and was demolished in 1960s. The first psychology
institution that was re-installed in 1972 was the lab of aviation psychology,
at the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
