Experimental economics is increasingly getting mainstream in economics. There
are plenty of opportunities for scholars with a psch. background. Better yet,
if you are not afraid of math, you can really make some breakthrough in this
area. Think of Kahneman

But any way, I'm ready to ramble about this again.
From a humble psychometrian's point of view, I'm always doubtful of giving
latent constructs grand labels such as intelligence, or in this case, life
satisfaction.
On the other hand, there is really no guarantee that if you keep asking people
one question, you'll end up getting a more reliable measurement on the latent
construct.

it's not how we label it that matters, it's what it can do that counts.
say intelligence, it helps predict life success in numerous domains.
