licensed by their state psychologist licensure board. Most states require you
to have a doctoral degree in psychology or education to be eligible for
licensure.
You could either do a PhD in psychology (the Boulder model) or a PsyD, with
the first one being an academic degree (you have to do a dissertation and

i haven't been following APA's moves lately. are they still trying to push
for prescription previlege for psychologists? i know some states have started
to grant limited prescription previlege to clinical psychologists, at least on
a trial basis, esp. in those predominantly rural states, or i may be wrong,
but i think i read it somewhere last year, in an APA newsletter or magazine.
yeah, :) i know people getting two phd's

Bipolar is not much to say, just Lithium. You have bio-phd,
it shouldn't be hard for you to figure some brain and nero chemisty.
Your background is very good for bio-psychology, hehe.
Like ARIMA said, some clinical psychologist have prescription grant,
depend on which state you are in.
Good luck.

think it is true:).
Clinical pyschologist either requires Ph.D plus clinical training or M.D with
residence experience specilaized in psychistry. I doubt that a Ph.D
psychologist could give prescription . they seemed to be able to give
behavior therapy, but not prescription.
In oder to be MD psychistrist, you need to go to medical school spending 4-5
years finish the degree and passing the USMLE( Usually there is no fello
