想以后转行作 finance 方面的工作.
退学去读 MFE, 又觉得没这么多钱.
但是毕业后,去 IB 或者 hedge fund 找工作的话,
又怕他们觉得我没有背景.
所以想考个 CFA .
希望努力 个2-3年通过lv 3. 到时候 phd 正好 毕业.:)
不知道 考CFA 对步入这个行业有帮助吗?
或者读个 数学或者统计的硕士呢?

demonstrating that you have good quantitative skills and interests in
quantitative fields. However, if you are going to get an EE PhD, it's really
not important to actually have these degrees as long as you have a strong
math and statistics background. Anyway, if your professor won't let you
take financial engineering courses, will he let you get a M.S. in stats or

发帖数: 233 | 3 I've seen people mention courses in finance that they've audited and books
that they've read (e.g. John Hull), so you could definitely do that. On the
other hand, it's not absolutely necessary to have a huge amount of
knowledge in finance. Banks and hedge funds hire engineering and science
PhDs not because they think these people have better knowledge of finance
than MBAs and MFEs but because they want people with strong quantitative and
problem solving skills. A lot of people have gotten job

发帖数: 93 | 4 I think getting on the CFA track -- and passing each of the exams -- can
help you, especially if you plan to look for positions on both the buy side
and the sell side. The CFA is really popular with buy-side people. Also,
since your background is non-finance, preparing for the CFA is a positive
signalling gesture to potential employers.
That said, it may not be necessary, and I certainly don't recommend it if
studying for the CFA exams takes too much time away from your E.E. Ph.D.
studies. (T
