funds, insurance companies, etc. The "products" you sell are either
derivatives created in-house (by quants and product managers), or assets the
traders acquired elsewhere and now want to get rid of.
Trading (in the current context) means you take a position in some asset
market, making a bet that hopefully will make you money. Traders are
essentially a hybrid between money managers and gamblers.
