Second: for those who have interview experience. I am now learning C++ and
Java simply by reading books, but rarely spend time writing codes---because
i can make progress on reading much faster in this way. Do you feel that
lack of typing the codes down with your own hand could potentially be a
problem when you go for an interview? (or as long as you *understand* the
stuff in the books, you can pass the interview...) Thanks!

IT job).
冒似IT都会帮quant搞好infrastructure, quant只要fill in the blank, 写个loop搞
定最核心的部分就成了. quant的主要工作是搞统计分析, 有结果以后用程序写出来就
行了, very straight forward programming, 用不着担心language specific feature
和efficiency啥的. | B***r 发帖数: 77 | 6 reply to Tribeca:
but in order to get a job offer as a quant, don't we need to be very good at
C++ at least? | t*****a 发帖数: 90 | 7 reply to bauer:
I have been through several jobs, and it has never been clear to me what is
virtual function or how memory management is done. Not surprisingly, I have
been humiliated by indian IT ppl with such questions in several interviews (
since every body on wall street thinks highly about themselves, even if they
are IT). Fortunately, I never stepped further with those dead-end career. |
