almost have NOTHING in common: completely different skill sets, completely
different job responsibilities and completely different career path.
I can't think of anything they share, maybe except that fact they may happen
to work for a bank, with completely different functions. |

institution's return requirement and risk appetite. It needs minimum
mathematical or programming skills. Many CFAs also work as equity analyst
using financial forecast models covering publicly traded companies.
Quants mostly develop mathematical or statistical models for the purpose of
pricing and managing a complex derivative product or determning which stocks
are relatively cheap.

banking or asset management.
I know nothing about quants because my maths sucks.
