Years ago, his book, introduction to the mathematics of financial
derivatives, was the first book i read about quant and brought me to the
field. It is clear and easy to understand for anybody without any stochastic
background.
Later I knew more about him, a nice guy, from a friend, a friend of his.

发帖数: 108 | 3 last semester, I only have a chance of taking the first 2 lectures in his "
financial engineering" course. Afterwards, another professor told us that he
was in hospital,in a deep coma. Even doctors don't know how to help him out.
I clearly remember, on 15 Sept, at first time, he came to lecture room and
met us , begin with announcing that day's big news: lehman brothers
bankruptcy. He is trying to deliver an esay-going and sophisticated
materials to us in his own way. After he got badly sick, ou | l****y

发帖数: 23 | 6 OH. I can not believe it. I took his course two years ago in HKUST. He is
such a kind man, always full of passion and humor. He could always make
difficult things easy to understand. I even asked him to write
recommendation letters when I applied. His courses are always very popular.

人,常常会开自己和上海前妻之间的玩笑.
New School的学生自发弄了个追思的party; 当时他和我们MFE 的Director 和Peter
Carr的关系都很好,于是Director用他的名字在Baruch College设立了一个奖学金(其实
当时是想给他的家人一些安慰,他的家人决定奖金用在学生身上最适合他的心愿).我们
公司有donation match.很多他曾经的学生都纷纷解囊,短短几天就凑了3万多刀.
他的离开真的很是让人痛惜,现在我还经常翻看他的那两本书. | b***k
