美国爱阿华州（Iowa）选民昨天投票决定不留任3位州最高法院法官，此举将使全美法
庭吹过一阵寒风。这3位法官在2009年判决同性婚姻合法。
“狄蒙纪录报”（Des Moines Register）报导，投票在反对“积极分子”法官的激烈
运动之后举行，这也是1962年择优遴选制度通过以来，州最高法官首次没有得到50%以
上同意留任的票数。
3位法官今日替自己辩护，并警告司法不该随着“史无前例由州外特殊利益团体资助的
攻击”而泛政治化。
法官贝克（David Baker）、史垂特（MichaelStreit）与首席法官透纳斯（Marsha
Ternus）在一篇声明中指出，“在法官生涯中，我们为爱阿华民众竭力完成自身使命，
坚守法律规定，做出公正不偏颇的判决，并忠实捍卫宪法。”
爱阿华州商人布雷阿兹（Bob Vander Plaats）在争取共和党提名为州长候选人失败后
，率领反对法官的活动。他坚称，这些法官才是让政治介入司法的人.

DES MOINES, Iowa — An unprecedented vote to remove three Iowa Supreme Court
justices who were part of the unanimous decision that legalized same sex-
marriage in the state was celebrated by conservatives Wednesday as a rebuke
of judicial overreach, even as it alarmed proponents of an independent
judiciary.
The outcome of the election was heralded as a statewide repudiation of same-
sex marriage and as a national demonstration that conservatives who have
long complained about "legislators in robes" are able to effectively target
and remove judges who issue unpopular decisions. Leaders of the recall
campaign said the results should be a warning to judges elsewhere. | k*****e
