masochistic
1 : a sexual perversion characterized by pleasure in being subjected to pain
or humiliation especially by a love object -- compare SADISM
2 : pleasure in being abused or dominated : a taste for suffering
谁能说得清楚?也许这就是爱吧。

This is an example how the Chinese language is abused.
The problem of the Chinese language is not the language itself, it lies on its
users. If the users have no style, so the language.
Now we saw an example here.

Generally I dislike arguments. "They are always vulgar, and often convincing."
You already presented the way you think, and the way you behave. I don't want
to make much comments about that.
I am a believer of tolerance. I don't want to interfere with your reasoning
and presentation. However, I still believe that a proper etiquette is not so
unreachable, even for you.
I think that's my last post concerning this argument.

Since you seem don't know English very well, here is some explanation:
The opposite of convincing is unconvincing, not inconvincing.
For your information, the quote is from Oscar Wilde, "The Importance of being

Or maybe I should further explain that I quote it with a slight sense of
irony?

I am not an English teacher, however, since you want to discuss English
grammar, here it goes:
It seems you made a mistake, OR you seem have made a mistake. Do you get it?
However, you used "you seems", that's an error.
To tell a story, you can choose to use the past tense, or you can also choose
to use the present tense. Examples are not hard to find.

I am sorry if I appear impolite by using "understand". That's not my

Interesting points.
First, I am not obsessed with English. I am obsessed with girls and
technologies. I use English because it is convenient than Chinese in most of
the cases.
Second, you are not obliged to read my post, or to reply it. So it is not of
your concern that my English is good or not. My British friends always offer
to correct my grammar and pronunciation (I am badly Asian-accented). But
again, that's my problem, not yours. I shunned free advises.
Your grammar is not my concern. And

My understanding is: Chinese is too precious, so either use it with style or
don't use it at all. As for English, it's OK to abuse. So modest people who
are afraid of abusing beautiful languages should choose English or alike.

original:

My reading of the lines in prose:
You, to you, be what you seem to be.

I guess the poet omitted the little words for meter reasons.
