不清了。英文书常有这种连首的名字，这里s and s连，显得文雅而有内涵，确实象书前
书后的评论条条所言—a most literary mystery，因为不光是题目，正文里murderer送
给victim的无数匿名信，都是与死亡有关的美丽诗句，这些信件循序渐进，从憎恨，威胁
，动机，预谋，到凶案当天堂皇华美的宣称谋杀。。。都由这些杂七杂八四处淘来的古言
构成。题目翻成中文耸人听闻，对我来说literary 不literary并不重要，因为也看不大
明白诗歌，我就是喜欢这样耸人听闻神秘兮兮的感觉啊。。。
这本书最让我后悔的是居然是大白天看的，清早拿起，情节紧凑让人放不下手，直到下午
，天色未黑凶手已经昭然若揭，白白浪费掉了一个恐吓自己的大好机会。。。
故事是这样的。
Cordellia Grey是个冷静内敛聪明善感外柔内刚不失朝气的拥有一家破落侦探社的年轻姑
娘，每天的侦探工作大半是替人寻找宠物。每天她都在担心生计问题。她的工作伙伴是个

I've also felt that Agatha Christie was an idealist whereas James was a
realist.
In nearly every Christie's work, the bad was punished in some way; and even
the wrong could not be undone, hope lied elsewhere.
Have you read Josephine Tey's "Miss Pym Disposes"? (even better than her much
acclaimed "Time's Daughter", I think) In the end, it was the good who
suffered. | or
发帖数: 720 | 3 Yes! I've looked through most of Tey's works. But still think her best are
the daughter of time and another one with brothers as murderer-victim..cant
remember the title. it has an interesting beginning. a little girl crushed
cooked potato chunks and declared she only ate potato when it was in the pulpy
form..;)
agatha christie's style is more pleasant than these two. for relaxing, i'd
rather pick agatha.;)
