Job description / Mission
Atlas Copco Construction & Mining Technique (CMT) has launched the establish
ment of an R&D Centre in Nanjing, with a new Rocktec-China at its core. Chin
a is a very important market for CMT and local engineering and R&D resources
are key to maintain CMT's strong position in the increasingly competitive C
hinese market. The model for the R&D Canter in Nanjing will be based on addi
tional divisional D&D engineering resources, focussing on applications and p
roducts designed for the Chinese market, with a core of Rocktec-China specia
list engineering resources, providing services to the four divisional D&D te
ams in Nanjing and the other CMT product companies in China. Rocktec-China w
ill be modelled on the same principle as Rocktec in ?rebro, with Specialist
Engineering Services and laboratories similar to what are established in ?re
bro. Rocktec-China will also take technical control of all rock drills and r
otation units that will be produced in China for the Chinese market. Rocktec
?rebro will continue with its current services to CMT divisions in Europe a
nd the rest of the world.
Your mission will be to establish and continuously develop the R&D Applied M
echanics group at Rocktec-China as a subsidiary of the R&D Applied Mechanics
Group at Rocktec-Sweden. Your general direction, methods and guidelines wil
l be provided by the R&D Applied Mechanics Group at Rocktec-Sweden. Your App
lied Mechanics group is expected to provide:
" In-house specialist service in applied mechanics providing reliable
soluti
ons to technical problems
" Focus on expertise in CMT-China products and needs utilising state-
of-the-
art knowledge and tools
" Introduce new methodologies for design and technical analysis and
interact
with external centre?s of competence
Your primary tasks to fulfil your mission will be to:
" Ensure that products developed by CMT-China meets local market and
governm
ent demands on safety
" Manage and develop a group of highly skilled analysts and laboratory
staff
" Manage and develop a high-tech laboratory for performance and
strength tes
ting of mechanical components and structures
" Support CMT basic development council with state-of-the-art
resources for
strategic long term development of CMT-China
" Ensure that your group has the right competence and tools to meet
present
and near future needs of your customers
" As a team member of the Applied Mechanics group do technical
analysis of s
tructural strength and fatigue life estimation on CMT-China products
" Develop a network of external consultants as temporary resources
" Continuously monitor the customer satisfaction with the services
provided
by your group
" Represent Rocktec-China R&D expertise towards external visitors and
contac
ts
" Take care of group administration and secure that your group does
not have
a negative financial result
As Applied Mechanics Group Leader, you will report to the R&D Center Manager
of Rocktec-China on day-to-day matters and to the Manager of R&D Applied Me
chanics Group at Rocktec-Sweden on strategic matters.
Education, Knowledge and Experience
You have a PhD education with proven skills related to research/design and d
evelopment. And successful management experience, preferably in an industri
al environment. You have the knowledge and experience to discuss highly tec
hnical projects with D&D managers, university professors or research centre
personnel. You are fluent in English and have good presentation skills.
Personality
You are result oriented with a positive attitude and self-confidence, a self
starter and pro active. You are well structured and organised and have a st
rong sense of ownership, taking responsibility and leading until a successfu
l conclusion. You are a strong team builder with excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. You are innovative and have the ability to get things
done through other people by engaging them in a positive way.

Measurement Technique Group Manager
Nanjing, China
Your mission will be to establish and continuously develop the R&D Measureme
nt Technique Group at Rocktec-China as a subsidiary of the R&D Measurement T
echnique group at Rocktec-Sweden. Your general direction, methods and guide
lines will be provided by the R&D Measurement Technique group at Rocktec-Swe
den. Your Measurement Technique group is expected to provide:
" World class in-house specialist services in measurement technique as
well
as for noise and vibration applications providing reliable solutions to D&D
issues
" Focus on expertise in CMT-China products and needs utilising state-
of-the-
art knowledge and tools
" In co-operation with Measurement Technique Group at Rocktec-Sweden
introdu
ce new methodologies for measurements as well as for noise and vibration app
lications and interact with external centre's of competence
Your primary tasks to fulfil your mission will be to:
" Ensure that products developed by CMT-China meets local market and
governm
ent demands on health and safety
" Manage and develop a group of highly skilled staff of specialists
" Support CMT basic development council with state-of-the-art
resources for
strategic long term development of CMT-China
" Ensure that your group has the right competence and tools to meet

" As a team member of the Measurement Technique group perform
measurements a
nd analysis and/or do noise and vibration tasks on CMT-China products
