Hi, all
I am working a project of musical acoustics.
But I know nothing about music so I want to ask this stupid question.
WHAT IS P|TCH AND TIMBRE?
In my understanding, pitch is represented by a set of frequencies:
one fundamental frequency, and many others which are nearly integer
multiple of the fundamental frequency.
So different pitches have different fundamental frequencies.
But for different instruments, even the same pitch sounds different.
That i | g*******a

Pitch should be the fundamental frequency itself.
And also, if you analyze the frequency response
of a note played by one certain instrument, the
fundamental frequnce occupy most of the energy.
And that is why the pitch is more obvious
than any other component of the note.(harmonies)
