chinese (or japanese) in a band.
Anyway, more japanese than chinese. Once I went to visit a friend, a english
boy thought I was from Japan (he was really stoned), he shaked my hands saying
"cool, I love your chinese band', but I could tell, the music he was playing
was japanese rock. It is very popular here.
Linkin Park has a japanese doing turntables. Feeder has a japanese guitar

clues and you may google it:
sound like they are playing in birmingham
they are punk group.
There are many bands play in local pubs. If your friends are nice and very
good at instruments, it is very easy to find a chance to play with them.
but to be in a cool band on TV, I am not sure..
