year I believe. Of course, the author probably selected the statistical data
in his favor. The book is a bit biased for sure.

Even though you are 27, you probably do not know if you already trained
enough to peak.

think that's pretty solid. If you have better data source, please share with

z***h 发帖数: 164 | 24 There are a few problems with age grading:
1. Very small sample size.
2. Focus on tail behavior (very best) instead of typical behavior (mean or
median) of an age group.
3. World records at peak age are set by pros. Age group records are often
set by amateurs. It is reasonable to deduct that world records at master
level are not as close to human limit (at that age group) as world records
at peak age.
Just imagine a pro becoming a master elite, his training volume/intensity
would decrease a lot. |
z***h 发帖数: 164 | 25 They would consider these as outliers and ignore them. For example, Jamaican
-born Olympian Merlene Ottey in 2006 ran the 100-meter dash in 11.34 seconds
at the age of 46. The Age-Graded Tables suggest that performance
corresponds to an Open (ages 20–30) equivalent of 10.122. Since the open
world record for women is 10.49 (by Florence Griffith Joyner in 1988), Ottey
's converted mark seems implausible. In fact, the WMA committee has excluded
certain performances as "nonrepresentative," and not u
