I started with just under 30mpw a few months ago, and I followed "one step
forward, 2 steps back" approach. So my weekly mileage is like 30, 35, 25, 40
, 30, 45, 35, etc. I did this all with extremely slow running (140 HR). I
don't like to wear the chest strap, so I used breathing pattern as my guide.
I *always* do 4-4 breathing pattern.

I want to see how much I can improve using Hadd's training method. So far it
seems working for me. I don't have any race scheduled.

65 miles this week, with a 20-miler today averaging 8:30 pace. Started
around 8:40 and finished around 8:20. The end is not a struggle but
certainly did not feel like piece-of-cake either.
Will try 70 miles in 2 weeks.

更牛。我本来应该peak到55迈的,结果阴差阳错,目前为止最高也才49.2迈。
等跑完比赛,好好build一下base,解决一下landing

throughout the run). In the end, I felt as if I could run another 4-5 miles. A bit hungry, but not really tired.
Will try 75 miles in two weeks. Anything higher than that seems impractical
to me as it really takes too much time at the pace I am running (8:15 to 8:

I will reduce the mileage but crank up intensity by adding hill repearts and
intevrals after new year. Then after 3 months or so low volume, high (
relative speaking) intensity training, I will try a 10k and a half race,
with goals of 40:00 and 1:30 respectively.

End up with only 70 miles this week. The 20-mile long run felt quite good.
Started with 8:40 pace for 2 miles, then around 8:20 until mile 15. Then 8:
00 for the next 3 miles. Finished the last 2 miles with 7:30 and 7:00 pace,
respectively.
I added tempo run and hill repeats during last few weeks. It makes training
quite a bit tougher. In retrospect, I should not have done that. I don't
think it's a good idea to have speed sessions in midst of base building
phase.
