human body by itself -- the symptoms of the cold: sore throat, sneeze, etc.
are entirely caused by the (over)reaction of the body's immune system. In fact,
people with active immune system may be more prone to cold symptom for this
reason.
The flu virus, on the other hand, is a different animal. It is important to
distinguish flu from cold. For all I know, cold is harmless and you can run
through it all you want. With flu, you have to be careful.
