I ate a lot of dust while running leg 5 on the country road.
The view was gorgeous, but passing vans brought up a lot of
dust, so I was switching around on both sides of the road to
avoid dust. The sunlight was very strong on the high latitude.
My breathing was hard. I carried my water so that my teammates
did not worry about feeding me water on the dusty road.
I kept my focus on getting more roadkills. Hill training
helped me win this leg. My planned pace was 10, and I beat it.
Leg 17 was night run, fortunately. the course was straight
forward, just one left turn. I didn't worry about getting lost.
The course was mostly flat.
Leg 29 I started out very fast since it was a little downhill,
Baji reminded me to slow down. At the start,欢喜和硕猫 gave me a
hint to follow a high school cross-country like boy, I told them
"no way". It turned out the boy was very fast, but I managed a very good
pace even though I had no chance to catch up with him.
We signed up for this relay well in advance because it's sold out
very quickly. Our team members' commitment was a big surprise to me
because they had to travel afar to the relay. I know they had to adjust
their personal priorities to make it. For that, I felt deeply grateful!
Running in Wasatch Back felt like you were in the Garden of Eden.
Connecting with people who share the same passion makes life more
meaningful.
