Our Garmin Forerunner 205 has damaged two of our computer motherboards
after plugging it into a USB port. This has only happened when the
Forerunner was heavily used for a couple hours and needed to be
recharged. The first time it happened I thought it was my fault with
having just installed a new video card that needed higher power
requirements then what my computer had.
After replacing the first motherboard and upgrading the computer power
supply to an ample 450 watts the second motherboard was damaged after
plugging the Forerunner 205 into the USB port. Again, we had just
used the Forerunner for tracking our trail ride and it needed
recharging.
I called Garmin to let them know what had happened and they said they
were not aware of this problem. When I mentioned I had read other
reviews with the same problem the Garmin representative qualified his
story by saying this problem had never crossed his desk.
Be sure to recharge the Forerunner 205 with its own power supply
before connecting it to a computer for downloading. The capacitors on
the ASUS P4SA-LA motherboards obviously can’t handle the recharge
load. This may be a flaw with the quality of the capacitors but I'm
not about to try it in another computer. I'll leave that for the
Garmin engineers to do. |

靠，一般来说都没有问题的呀，usb port应该是控制电流不超过500ma的（有闪电标记
的口可以更大些），我插我的tablet上去，pad直接显示不能charge，电流不够
应该是主板山寨了，省了限流？或者本来就比较有问题。。。。 |
