发帖数: 4527 | 1 Tomorrow is the Falmouth 7 mile road race. As a pre event, the New Balance
Falmouth Mile is happening this evening. Four groups of runners in total, all
by invitation, include high school girl and boy, elite women and men.
The race started at 6 pm and 10 high school girls were in the competition.
It was a little humid and hot. The winner's time is 5:20 or so. Then high
school boy kicked out with a much faster pace and the winner crossed the
line at ~4:20.
When I was watching the race near the finish line, elite women started to
warm up. One very lean runner with a blue shirt, tall and cool, had drawn my
attention. Her stride is very relax and large. Eventually she won the title
with a time of ~4:30 with an impressive finish in the last 200 meters.
Then the focus of this evening came, the elite men race. Ten runners lined
up and were introduced one by one. All of them have a PR less than 4:10,
with a few under 4:00. Two runners with red shirts took off very quickly
after the gun and I suspected if they could finish the race. They turned out
to be the pacers, one quit after two laps and the one out after nearly 1200
m. Then all runners speeded up and four of them smashed the course record
with the cheering from crowd. The winner, Jordan MaNamara, finished with an
impressive time 3:54:xx, the third PR he made in this summer. At least 5
five runners had a sub 4 time. It was awesome to watch the race and I am
excited for the road race tomorrow.
