The program for this investigation was written in C. Its source code is
included after this page,in its entirety. The source code should compile and
run without problems (though it will not produce the graphs without the
allegro library); however, no guarantees – run at your own risk. The main
risk of an infinite loop comes from setting the effort too high and having
the runner run out of energy, collapsing from fatigue – velocity goes to
zero, and the “race” is never completed.
