recently, so we have to change our original plans. I already got a postdoc
offer at a top university, and plan to start in July. I don't know if I
should give up my offer and go to SD with my husband. It's really a
dilemma...
Anyway, I'm starting to look for opportunities in SD as well, in the hope
of getting something soon. My background is computer vision/ medical image
processing--- I know it's a narrow field. Could anyone provide some job
information or some other suggestions for me? It's a hard choice regarding
family and career.

这个在UCSD找个薄厚应该不难吧, 转做pattern recognition 应该没有问题吧. 我一

phd做CV/Image processing的在Disney那边做动画.

跟我一起过去
然后再找工作。他目前有工作所以再找不回太难。
但他最近刚接到san diego 的on site interview 通知，下星期去面试。从那边的情况

里已经很想要他了，连一些收到offer以后的paperwork都提前发给他了，所以他基本上
是决定去了，
还让我也跟过去。因为我们两地已经一年半了，我好不容易毕业了，现在真的不想在分
开了。但我是
fresh phd, 在现在的经济形势下是很难找到一个非postdoc 的工作的。即使是我现在
这个
postdoc也是很困难才找到的。现在我很矛盾，不知应不应该先去马里兰干一段时间再
搬到老公那里，
还是take the risk, 直接裸奔到san diego?
我父母也很希望我去马里兰那个学校，我如果不去他们会很失望。

1. 我说我的方向是一个narrow field， 因为这个领域里，只有最优秀的人才能找到工
作。如果
你学了这个领域但是学得不太好，那你所学的就全作废了，因为这个领域里没有一个
bad job给那些
学得不太好的人的。这里只有最好的工作留给最优秀的人的。而我不能够有幸进入最优
秀的人群，所
以在找工作过程中感觉就是死路一条。
2. 我现在有绿卡，因为我老公是美国人。但实际上绿卡并不能在找工作上起什么作用
。有很多
image processing的工作都只要citizen, 大约90%以上。 不要求citizen的工作一般都
是什
么人都考虑的，包括没有绿卡的。
3. 我没有很多F2那么幸运，因为我老公不会让我长期当家庭主妇的。他有很高的学历
和很好的事
业，他对事业看得比什么都重，为了事业他可以牺牲一切。他找我的原因之一也是因为
我会拿到phd
然后以后有可能正大钱。目前我只有一个postdoc的offer已经让他有些失望了，因为他
很看不起
postdoc的工作，他希望我能找一个 real job.
现在我暂时住在老公这里，准备下星期回国的东西。虽然只在这里住几天，我也觉得
很压抑。表面上
老公对我很好，但他每天都问我: any news? 是希望我有心工作的消息，但是too bad
I
don't have any news. 白天他上班，我就在家收拾房间，做各种家务等等。我把他的
家里弄得
井井有条，而他对此并不在意，他不需要一个家庭主妇，他需要我有自己的事业。
总之我很绝望，不知何去何从。。。

But if I don't go to SD with him now, I don't know when I can find a real
job in SD and join him. It may take a long time, or may never happen. That
way we will have to be separate forever... I guess eventually we have to
get divorced because of careers...
