朋友在美国做了两年博后，J1身份。前几个月做完博后回国休息了一段时间，现在又联
系了一家做博后的，现在准备办J1来美国，但是对方学校说他以前办过J1，现在不能再
办了，必须要豁免。请问是这个情况的吗？下面是学校小秘的回信：
Is his J-1 program still active? If he is in China his DS-2-019 may be
canceled in SEVIS if he is not returning to the current US sponsor. This is
something we need to know because if his program was canceled in SEVIS then
we can’t bring him back under the J-1 due to the 24 month bar on repeat
programs and the 2 year home residency requirement (if no waiver). |
