A related note: for my recent trip to Shanghai, I found it (oddly) that it
was cheaper to fly out of San Diego (connect at LAX) rather than flying out
LAX..
Don't know why but that is a well known in the industry called "hidden city"
..

从SAN飞便宜的情况不常见，这个是航空公司为了promote一个特定的城市pair而放出的
一些低价base fare，常见的比如说，中国飞NYC在ORD转机的飞机比直飞ORD的飞机便宜
。SAN几率不大，查查最近一段时间的base fare就知道了。
