You need legal status to stay in CA, valid driver's license, clear criminal
history... All ca gun transfer need to be done at dealership, and there's a
charge $25+~$10 no matter how much the sale price is.
Ruger .22LR is something between toy and small game hunting gun, mostly just
for fun. cost per round: ~$9/100 or $30/1000.
Winchester model 1300. Nice entry level speed action shotgun, smallest legal
caliber for big game hunting, but I don't expect you would mess with bear
with it. Reason to have: home defense (yes, too long to take to school),disk
shooting(a bit to heavy though), and experience of joyful shock... Cost ~$1
