标 题: 关于ABC事件给女儿幼儿园长写的信－律师修改版

幼儿园的另外一个中国孩子的爸爸在一家专利律师事务所作技术工作，请他们所的一个
中国律师给大改了一下。虽然是专利律师还不是那种职业的“讼棍”，当相信文笔用词
的拿捏都会比我们准确很多。
Dear Ms. XXX:
I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the recent bout of
racism-driven messages coming from the ABC Network.
Less than a month ago, the ABC Network ran a segment in its Jimmy Kimmel
Live program called “Kids Table” that, for all practical purposes,
appeared to encourage and promote sentiments of genocide against the Chinese
ethnic community. In the show, the host Jimmy Kimmel asked children
panelists how America could solve the national debt problem. A boy in the
show suggested "killing everyone in China." Instead of cautioning the child
like a rational adult, much less a reasonable comedian, Kimmel bantered that
"[killing everyone in China] is an interesting idea." And it didn’t end
there; later, Kimmel again raised the question: "Should we allow the Chinese
to live?" and another child replied with resounding "NO!"
ABC should have acted in good conscience to not run this segment, or at the
very least edited out those particular exchanges. Yet, the show was
broadcasted with that disturbing message left intact to the national
audience. Needless to say, those of us in the Chinese community have been
shocked, hurt, and deeply offended. ABC’s program has generated intense
protest all over the U.S.
I wanted to bring your attention to the inherent and potential danger of
racial discrimination (or even hatred) in America occurring at this very
moment. I believe we should have zero tolerance for any racist speech or
behavior, especially when considering our children, our future generation. I
also believe this is doubly important in XXX School to promote more
understanding and education regarding tolerance and acceptance due to the
great multicultural/multiethnic diversity of our children. Therefore I
believe education about racial, cultural, and social equality should be an
indispensable part of our children’s curriculum. It is one of my deepest
beliefs that we parents and the school can work together to teach our
children to grow with love and not hate.

我修改的地方主要是，毕竟我女儿还只是在上幼儿园，不可能象rangrang说的上大学的
女儿会受到有生命危险的伤害。另外我也觉得，你过分强调孩子有受伤害的危险，就是
批评人家学校/幼儿园的工作，在没有确切的凭据下如此说欠妥。
我修改后的主要意思是，因为最近这么一个事件我有些concern。我觉得种族平等的教
育要从小就抓起。我想知道你们校方在这方面是如何做的，如果有需要家长配合的地方
，我们可以面谈。可以多找些中国家长一起签名。
我这样做的目的有两个。
第一， 学校能搞一次种族平等，尤其是中国文化的教育，那是再好不过。
第二，就算只是一次中国家长和校长面谈的机会，那也是告诉人家：我们中国人在种族
歧视上这根弦那是绷得很紧的，一旦有任何风吹草动我们也会跳脚。这样如果以后出现
针对中国孩子的bully事件，相信校方也会更重视更公正。

intense. Some mainstream media support ABC's decision. I want to bring your
attention to this potential danger or racial hatred spreading in America
during this volatile moment.
I believe we should have zero tolerance to any racism speech or behavior
. I also believe this is extremely important in XXX School due to the great
racial diversity of our children. Therefore I believe education about racial
equality should be an indispensable part of children’s curriculum. I would
like to discuss with you about how parents and school can work together to
teach our children to love, not to hate.

我的疑问是：我家女儿是在隶属poway学区的preschool，应该将信发给谁呢？怎么才能
让所有或大部分华人父母联名呀？我只知道我女儿所在班级的父母email地址。 | T********g

但是有点儿空洞，
最后结尾有点儿突然。你可能应该把建议意见拓展点儿。 | D**********R
发帖数: 25234 | 5 不知道啊，我是打算打印了直接给幼儿园的校长，反正经常去办公室，他们都很nice。
我娃的老师还要看传单，不过我还没找到英文版，昨天让老公打印，他给忘了，只好今
天提醒他们看周末新闻了。。。。然后周一再给。
我们不是小学，所以没那么严肃，我只给学校职员递封信，你们小学，是不是concern
多些？我认识的妈妈有担心孩子被另眼看待所以不想去就这件事接触学校的，你们如果
有中国同学，最好问问人家的家长是不是愿意你们这么做，不然也许会觉得被代表了或
者对自己的孩子有不好的影响。
