2nd, one year=2080 hours, so u make $4k more before tax by waiving benefits.

2*40*50=4000 (pre-tax), less than what u pay (4000 after-tax) if u buy ur own
insurance. also u r contractor or part-time(?), go to the benefit is better
for u.

and he is given two choices of pay
I would go with more cash and buy cheap insurance, for example, high
copayment one from kaiser
and I suggest lz to ask company to pay you more!

hiring company calls lz contractor, lz gets pay/w2 from the contractor
company.

if you are healthy, $4000 a year is a lot to spend for medical/dentel/vision
coverage.
purchase a high-deductible individual insurance, but there might be tricky
issues of pre-existing conditions. i assume your insurance through the
company is more flexible.
