那人居然理直气壮的说，如果聪明电话没有dataplan，就不聪明了，而他们不能让客户
有不好的使用经验。
还真伟大啊。接下来他们一侦测到不聪明的电话，可能帮你买一个，寄到你家，逼你付
钱。因为不能让客户有不好的使用经验。 o_o!!

maybe yours is not an iphone. Other smart phones in use prior to Sep 2009
are grandfathered. Iphones are not.

make phone call and play apps too.
I am now a data plan user. But before that, I used smartphone from samsung
blackjack, blackberry and even some ShanZai phone from China, never get
pushed for a data plan. Actually, I even switched between having or not
having data plan several times and ATT always do what I required them to do.
That is why I think your experience is because iPhone is treated differently.

However, for smartphones except iphone, if it was in use prior to sep 2009,
it will be grandfathered. If you take your sim card out, and put it back in
, then you will activate a "new smartphone" on at&t, and you will be charged
data plan.
This part is really clear, and has been this way since the end of last year.

I told at&t rep I will switch back to my non-smart phone so please remove
the data plan. They did but told me if I put the sim card back in the
iphone (or any smartphone), data plan will be added automatically.
Don't know if jailbreak will fix it.

smartphone来的，会把加过dataplan的phone固定连接上。
我当时已经决定要dataplan了，只是还没有决定用什么phone,就说好吧，我冒险试验一
下好了。
结果就是我换了几次，包括这边网络买的blackberry和国内的山寨机，都是要上
dataplan就上，要取就取。我非常肯定取消成功，不但网络上有记录，而且每次取消以
后你都能够从机器上看见说dataplan不存在无法connect。我的simcard当然是到处插了
。直到最后换定了为止。
唯一和你情况不同的，我不喜欢iphone,从没用过

verizon has its own problems. u can't use data and make calls at the same
time; verizon charges more fees in general... in california, there's no
evidence to support that verizon coverage is better than att. on the
contrary, there r evidence to suggest that at least on the data part, att
has better speed dispite having more subscribers... |
