已经和dealer 谈好价格，如果能10 人 以上， 下面是我找到的最好价格：
Kawai K5, Price: $5400 OTD，
Kawai K3, Price: $4500 OTD
Price includes bench, tax, 10 year warranty, and free delivery (first floor)
to anywhere to San Jose and north。If we can get more people, we can get
better price.
和这里绝大多数家长一样，我对钢琴一无所知。 过去几个月里， 湾区的 几个 piano
dealers,我都去看过和了解情况， 长了不少知识。我和钢琴老师， 其他家长 及 琴行
销售也都做了很多咨询。 我也研究了mitbbs, wenxuecity, huaren 几乎所有团购帖子
。如果感兴趣，大家还可以看看The Piano Book, Buying or Owning a New or Used
Piano by Larry Fine。 图书馆可以借到。下面分享一下最近所学：
1. Yamaha or Kawai
Yamaha and Kawai， 这两个日本牌子都以优质质量和合理价格受到大家青睐。 Yamaha
U1 更是世界上销量最高的立式钢琴。Yamaha 一般比 Kawai 贵五-八百块钱， 因为
Yamaha 在广告上的费用更高， 这也是 Yamaha 更为人所知的原因。
如果团购, Yamaha U1， $5350 买到。 Yamaha U3, $7000 左右。 U1 和 U3 在于音箱
高度-U1， 48 inch； U3, 53 Inch.
如果团购, Kawai， K3, $4500 买到。 K5, $5500 左右。 K3 和 K5 在于音箱高度-K3
， 48 inch； K5, 49 Inch.
经过了解， 决定买Kawai, 原因如下：
1） 这几年， 为降低成本， Yamaha， Kawai 都在中国建厂。
现在美国市场的Yamaha, Dealer 说是 Made in Japan, 可绝大多数实际上日本组装，
零部件大部分是中国浙江萧山造的。 Yamaha dealers 有两套报价，一套为全日本产，
一套为日本组装。 两者报价差30% 左右，质量当然也不同。 光从serial no, 几乎是
看不出两者差别， 除非dealer 告诉你入厂价。现在美国市场的Yamaha， 几乎都是日
本组装。
基于以上原因，现有灰色市场， 从日本进口Yamaha的旧琴， （before 1990是原装的
）， 打磨后卖。 The price is not cheap, only a thousand dollar cheaper,
since the old one has a good quality.
Kawai, 虽然也在中国生产，但只销往亚洲市场。美国市场的Kawai, 还是日本原装。
2）According to the Piano Book, 音色上， Yamana, 偏量，适于Jazz, 现代风格；
Kawai, 较浑厚，适于古典音乐。I have the same feeling after trying both
brands.
2. New or Used Piano
Sorry, I will change to English. It is too slow for me to type Chinese. If
budget permit, buy a new one. Since the old one is not cheap as I discuss
before, and there is very limited warrant for old piano by dealer not by
manufacture.
Also beware that old Yamaha made in Japan is for Japan market at that time,
the north American is much drier than Japan. The wood in old Japanese piano
is not suitable for the dry weather here, even if the old one has a better
quality than the new Yamaha.
If you decide to buy an old one, bring a technician, which cost around $80-
100.
3. Rent or Buy
I recommend rent a piano first for your kid to see whether he or she like it
. SiliconValley Piano Store, or McBain Store has a rental credit, which you
can use for future purchase.
4. The following are several deals I visited:
A. Mc Bain Piano Company, located at 391 S. Winchester Blvd, San Jose, CA
95128. It is a family-owned business since 1920s. Scott is the boss. There
is a Chinese sale person, Ming Li. It carries a lot of German brand and
Kawai, but no Yamaha.
Silicon Valley Piano store, located at 1546 S. De Anza Blvd, San Jose Ca
95129. It only sells used piano, carrying a lot of reconditioned Yamaha. Mr.
Yang is the Chinese sale person. If he recommends you to buy a Ritmuller (
which he tells you that it is a German brand, with a German name), do not
buy it since it is a Chinese brand with mediocre quality.
Yamaha peninsula music center, 861 S. Winchester Blvd, San Jose. Ann Wu is
the Chinese Sale person
Music Exchange at Walnut Creek; music exchange has a few locations. You can
check its website.
Piano-Plus at Castro Valley-I have not been there, but some people bought
Yamaha from the store. | s********8

关于Yamaha的产地，除开new 48" model T121SC （in a less-expensive cabinet (
otherwise the same as the U1)，it made in China 其它都号称 made in Japan，
not assembly in Japan, 所以这比较让人困惑。
不过呢，中国这几年产的钢琴质量也越来越好了，就像６０年代日本琴刚进美国市场被
人看不起，可是３０年河东３０年河西， 好几个北美的琴现在都倒闭了， | D**R

弹了四五年后，就可看出差距。

This one can be bought at 3900 as goup rate.

发帖数: 5610 | 16 现在琴行销量最大的是三角钢琴，grand piano，然后是数字钢琴，digital piano，最
后才是upright piano。U1，U3, K3，K5可是upright pianos。
这个比较就像当年数字照相机出现的时候的照相机市场销量，非数字专业照相机很多人
买，然后是数字式照相机，最后是一般的业余非数字照相机，当时很多人还说数字式比
不上专业的，一直到今天，数字照相机一统天下。 |
