发帖数: 40 | 1 When passengers came to gate 102 at SFO Int'l to wait for boarding on UA 857
for Shanghai on July 15, they suddenly found it was not their flight. The
flight at that gate would fly to HKG. They were told to go to gate 98.
No sooner had they arrived in gate 98 then a clear flight delay was
announced. The delayed flight will depart 9:00AM next day vs the original 1:
49PM.
The explanation was some mechanical problem with the plane. But the rumor
was the plane for UA 857 was given to HKG route as their plane got problem.
The speculation was UA might sold more business/first class seats on HKG
route and the same delay could cause more $ to UA on HKG vs PVG.
Passengers were given $15 voucher for both dinner and meal and were sent to
San Leandra, Foster City and San Mateo to stay for the night.
2 weeks ago, same story happened to UA 857. Passengers didn't know when the
airplane would be fixed until later night.
BTW, UA has announced they will start to charge 2nd check-in luggage for
travel between US and China, $70/450CNY. Read details on their web site. | c**d
