Giant Pandas Were the Only National Zoo Animals Who Didn't React to the
Earthquake
While the rest of the animals at the National Zoo in D.C. freaked out about
yesterday's earthquake, the giant pandas were just sitting around, totally
indifferent. If they even noticed. Mei Xiang and Tian Tian were just lolling
about on their adorable well-padded rear ends while the other animals
shrieked and "belch-vocalized" and generally carried on.
This National Zoo press release says that "According to keepers, the giant
pandas did not appear to respond to the earthquake." The only other animals
apart from the panda couple who didn't have a strong reaction were the
cuttlefish.
Meanwhile, the orangutans were "belch vocalizing" ("an unhappy/upset noise
normally reserved for extreme irritation"); a mama gorilla ran up a tree
with her baby; the red ruffed lemurs sounded an alarm call, as did the
howler monkeys; a giant elephant shrew would not come out of his hiding
place all afternoon; horribly, the snakes began writhing; a tiger jumped;
beavers stood on their hind legs; flamingos huddled together; deer were
agitated; and a Komodo dragon named Murphy sought shelter inside.
Which is really nothing compared to Cy Vance's press conference. | n***b 发帖数: 5914 | 2 因为大熊猫在国内早就对严重超载的卡车经过时的轰隆声麻木了 |
