A bay area based, funded online education startup is looking for a senior
level technology partner (future CTO role). The current team is composed of
Chinese speaking professionals with significant experience in finance, M&A,
marketing, management consulting, project management, etc in technology
industries, and successful entrepreneur. China will be an important focused
market.
The beta version online platform is up and running already. They are now
looking for a technology savvy person, particularly with web related
experience, to join the senior team to lead all the ongoing tech/engineering
related efforts moving forward. Any referral will be highly appreciated.

Required qualifications:
Basic
• Rock solid proficiency in delivering high-performance web
applications using PHP, MySQL and Apache in a Linux environment.
• Experience with/exposure to the full web-application development
cycle: documentation, design, coding, testing, version control, etc
• 6+ years PHP experience with MySQL, CSS, AJAX, javascript and
jquery.
• 6+ years of web development and development project management. .
• Strong knowledge of relational database design.
• Experience with OO programming and design
• Experience using SVN.
• Experience with Content Management Systems, including WordPress.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Deployment of changes to live site
• Familiarity working with different APIs and third-party libraries
Plus
• Web-design HTML5, XML, JSON,
• common PHP Frameworks and design patterns,
• mobile development
• Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk
management
• Familiarity with consumer privacy and payments industry
compliance requirements
Business skills
• Demonstrated ability to envision web-based services that meet
consumer needs or solve business problems.
• 5+ years experience managing web application development.
• Knowledge of web standards.
• Knowledge of Internet protocols and RFC standards, database
management systems, and revision control systems.
• Exposure to business theory, business process development,
governance processes, management, budgeting, and administrative operations. |
