After rooting the phone, adb shell to /system/app, remove or rename
ThetheringManager2.apk and then reboot the phone.

After you remove Thetheringmanager
can you still set the password for the wifi hotspot for the phone ?

You need connect a computer to the device, then use the computer's wifi as
the hotspot. |

如果是wireless的话，估计就要root了，然后装wireless tether的软件。
不过如果是给laptop用的话，USB tether感觉很好用，比wireless tether稳定很多。 |

谢谢建议， 我用了easy tether fee版本， 感觉很慢。
用laptop上网比手机本身上网慢许多， 许多网页打不开， 包括gmail，
你有没有这个问题 ？

When I tried to run it, it promotes that I shall have AT&T tethering plan.
