What that 6-year-old said is actually quite honest and truthful of his real
thoughts. It is the exact thought of the adults around him, including his
parents,Jimmy Kimmel and the editors of the show. The kid just expressed
what those adults dare not to say openly. Disagree? OK, when the little boy
said in Anderson’s fairy tale “but the emperor has nothing on!”,wasn't he
telling the naked truth? Every adult in the story finally felt released and
repeated to one another: “the little boy said the emperor did not have any
clothes on.” Sound familiar? Every single adult in the story hold the same
thought until it is revealed via a little boy’s mouth. Oh wait, how old is
this little boy in the fairy tale, 6 or 5? A sad and simple fact is that we
live in a time when most U.S. people have grown up being encouraged and
told it is okay to solve a problem through violence/killing. Sandy Hook,
Virginia Tech... you name it. |
