Favorite dumpling place looks kind of empty. Is it open to locals? What are
in those dumplings? China may have rapid economic growth but is still ruled
by a repressive government that can "disappear" you in a heartbeat and
censors all public media including old-school stuff like newspapers and
personal free speech. He seems to judge the country based on his personal
values, i.e. money and education. The Chinese word for foreigner is still "
hairy devil". He will never see "the true China" because he will never be
allowed to. Never live in a country where you can cut the atmosphere with a
knife and there is little regulation on food and there is one person on
every block keeping tabs on his neighbors for the police.
