Ladies and gentlemen of Fremont. I thank you for signing this petition and
trying to make your voices heard. Over 635 concerned citizens have signed
this petition representing approx. 2500+ citizens of Fremont.
Myself, Joe Lonsdale, Melisa Soliman, Elna Mehta (all of MSJE) and many
other concerned citizens went to the meeting yesterday. We spoke and
conveyed your opposition in clear terms to the board. But the board it seems
to me already had made a decision in their minds and without much public
deliberation and without considering any alternatives, voted 5-1-0 (for,
against, abstain) for the development as presented to them :(
The Ohlone Board is now authorized to start negotiations with the chosen
developer to build three story buildings with 315 units along mission blvd.,
behind the olive trees. The eucalyptus trees that exist today around the
parking lot will be cut down. It is now up to us to contact Fremont City
Council and its various committees ( Environmental, Historic, Planning
Commission etc.) to influence them to either alter the plans or stop it so
that our concerns are addressed.
Our goal as concerned citizens was not to deny Ohlone the funds it needs to
pursue its educational aims or to hurt the students or the staff in any way.
On the contrary, we want to them be financially stable and have sufficient
funds to help students and improve the educational standards and enhance our
community. We love Ohlone and want to see it thrive.
But I find it hard to believe that this 315 unit, three story monstrosity,
is the ONLY way Ohlone thinks it can get some additional funds. I'd like to
understand why Ohlone believes that is the case and explain it to us. We
welcome a meeting or an email from the President of Ohlone or its Board of
Trustees to help us understand their rationale. We are reasonable people and
want to help Ohlone while not causing harm to the local community.
If instead they in conjunction with the City of Fremont, just want to ram it
through against the wishes of over two thousand local residents, without
addressing the school congestion issues and the traffic issues, we will have
no other choice but to fight it all the way.
Most of us have busy schedules with little kids in school and I understand
it is very hard to take on one more thing on our plates. But if a few
committed citizens can get together and coordinate communications and
activities, we can make a difference.

议会都有吸引力。
如果新增300多个单位，Mission的交通就更堵了。也许这可以是一个突破口。

This housing development plan is adding 300 plus housing

* Drastically worsen the already bad traffic congestion
on Mission Blvd;
* Further overburden the already overflowed schools in

* Destroy the beauty and peaceful environment in the

We understand Ohlone College is in need of long term
sustainable funding, however, this housing development

in every election. Some of them come from the family tied to developers.
What do you expect?
They will calculate how many votes you guys have. They got away with not
building a single school in ardenwood after approving Patterson ranch
project.
Vinnie bacon used to oppose development including patterson rach project.,
which helped him get elected last time. .
I am surprised he is vice mayor now. Maybe he has a change of heart. |

Builder扔给学区一两个million就打发了。巨大的包袱全部留给了学区。
学区怎么办？好办！$650M 的bond已经放在Ballot上了。要是这0.65Billion全花在改
善我们现在孩子们的教学环境上，我们自然全力支持。可是这里面有多少钱是去给
Builder擦屁股的？
现状就是Builder赚钱，全民买单。不想买单？你孩子在我们手里做人质呢。Fremont这
几年造了这么多新的Unit，竟然没有造一所新的学校。孩子们随随便便就被Overflow到
几英里外的学校上课，还是在破破烂烂的portable classroom里面。对那些幸灾乐祸的

发帖数: 1777 | 14 Fremont的唯一经济来源是地税。几年前想在Automall搞体育场被华裔否决了。因此搞
房地产经济是很积极的。
MSJE面积有限，没法容纳更多的学生。新增几百套长远而言可能有学区重划压力。难说
会不会靠近Warmspring的划到Weibel(?)那里去了。毕竟那个学校大。

也是预算的大头，但效率太差，工人像大爷一样舒服，无解了。
