similar experience with him , can you be my witness or provide a statement?
Our family moved from east coast to Sunnyvale on January 2013, we signed a
lease with Jason tseng on jan 18th 2013, and signed a 6 month lease , by
feb 1st, we found a the shower head in the bathroom is leaking water, the
water dripping sound is pretty loud especially at night, it keep us up at
night, I notified Jason by email , he came in only to tape a grocery bag to
cover the shower head , , the leakage is getting worse, we urged him to
repair it ASAP, the hot water leaked into the ceiling downstairs, and
dripping onto the car parked downdstairs, the car owner compained to the
condo association, on Feb 23rd, the condo association send 3 peopale
include a licensed plumber to reaper it, they have to broke the ceiling on
the 1st floor to dry up the ceiling and let the mold out, the licensed
plumber called Jason right in front of the leaking faucet asking his
permission to repair the leaking faucet, Jason refuse to let the licensed
plumber to repair the leakage. The conditions of the apartment is getting
worsde over the several weeks and there are condensation on the windows and
ceilings and walls in the bedroom and the bathroom, after we urge Jason to
repair many times, we have to move out of the apartment on Feb, 28th,2013.
on the night of Feb 28th, the gushing hot water increased the temprature in
the apartment and triggered the smoke alarm at midnight,, the neighbor
called 911 and the Sunnyvale police and fireman broke into the apartment,
they turned off the whole water supply for the building and called in Jason
, urged him to repair the leakage asap, they also recommend him to blow dry
the apartment , so Jason used big fans to blow dry the whole apartment day
and night, it makes a lot of noises, the tenant living updairs complained
about it a lot. Later Jason have to replace the vinyl floor for the bathroom
and the water soaked bath sink . he has to remove both the toilet to
repair the damage to the bathroom. We want to get the deposit back and the
February rent back because he failed to provide habitable living conditions.
The laundry dryer also never worked, and the bedroom is missing the window
screen, and the bedroom window cannot be locked, the kitchen sink is also
backing up sewerage from upstairs. Jason mentioned in the letter he finally
fixed the leaking faucet on March 11th, which is 41 days after it start to
leak, we should not be paying for the rent for a apartment that is not
habitable.
Jason also took away our internet modem package box, so we could not
submit the rebate of $99.99 for the modem.
The apartment bedroom window does not have window security pr locking
device
Landlord had failed to maintain the apartment and carry out any necessary
repairs, The problem could be quickly fixed by a available and qualitifed
person |
