看。考虑先租房再买房，一直在中部呆着，生活简单，民风淳朴，不晓得sacramento哪
边治安、daycare相对好些，还有租房还要考虑什么问题？ |

land park and Greenheaven are old but safe communities and close to
downtown. Elk Grove has large asian population. 4 bed room in Elk Grove is
about 1650-2100 per month. East Sacramento may go up a little more. Welcome
to Sac. there are a few large asian markets including famous Ranch 99 in
Florin Road and a Korea/international market in Rancho Cordova. Folsom
premium outlet and a lot shopping malls in Sac, Roseville and Folsom. at
least 4 Costco stores in the region. I really enjoy living in Sacramento.
life style is different from bay area. you may feel bored if you like city
life. Very popular bike trails along American River and Sacramento River
around Folsom lake. Summer is dry and hot. it
is one of most diversified cities in California. Chinese food is not as good
as bay area. Crime rate is not that bad. Some areas in South Sac are not
safe at night
time. |

nice college town, but expensive. Morning traffic in Sac is getting worse
everyday because of growing population. Sorry I am familiar with Woodland. |

Davis, 15mins away, and much cheaper. Many people work in Davis and live in
Woodland.
The school in Davis is better, but you can do it after you settle down in
Woodland, it will safe you a lot of $. |

发帖数: 174 | 9 其实现在好纠结，一方面想着直接买房，因为毕竟9月中旬才报到。也许抽一个星期去
集中突击看房子，再远程办办相关手续也来得及。买房子的话davis太贵了，sac看似性
价比高很多。但是上班单程不堵车要40分钟，在我们中部农村住惯的人看，还蛮远的。
买房子买在woodland倒是近，但是怕孩子上学没好的选择。
一方面想着要么先租，太仓促了怕买错房子。租房子的话的确像你说的，在woodland也
行。
唉，思路好混乱。
大家有任何建议尽管说。我们都很想听。

get familiar with sac region before buying a house. if you do not mind tell
what is your budget and expecting total square feet, I may give your some
suggestions. I would not consider buying a house in woodland because it is a
small and rural town. I do not foresee it has much growth potential as Sac.
Woodland is close to Davis, but it is not Davis. it has been years like this
way. Do not expect it will change soon. Sorry I do not have Chinese
keyboard input on my PC. |

true that Roseville, Rocklin and Folsom are cities. but they are all
located toward east side of Sac metro. Roseville and Rocklin belong to
placer county, Folsom belongs to Sac county. It is defined by Highway
directions 80 East to Reno ( Roseville and Rocklin) and 50 east to Lake
Tahoe
(Folsom) what you mention east sac is Sac metro. most time locals call it
midtown or downtown. they are all considered as great sacramento area
because many people work in Sac and live in suburban. Just like people
call Milpitas and San Jose located in South Bay. Hopely it helps. |

不晓得有没有好区好房，靠woodland又近点。
另外也考虑过上私校，但是小学就开始，两个娃，似乎开销太大了。一直没明白私校比
起公校究竟有什么明显的优势呢？

can still get a large new house in Elk Grove 95624. pleaseant Grove HS is
good. Some people do not like ELk Grove because it is close to south Sac .
but you can find a house around laguna blvd and Elk Grove Blvd, you should
be ok. I still love Elk Grove as Traffic is an issue no matter where you
buy a house in Sac area. I am not familiar with Woodland and Davis

Davis is expensive for many good reasons, but you will love it once you're
there, very very family friendly. Plus, almost no traffic at all to Woodland.

older houses usually come with larger lots and usually they are in a more
central location, and $/sqft would be even higher.

在Woodland工作不要买Elk Grove。 理由很简单， (1)你有更好的选择， (2)W-X
interchange morning交通拥挤会是一个头痛的问题, (3) Too far, and (4) Not
cheap any more。 建议考虑: (1) Woodland， 送孩子上天主教的私立。(2) North
Natamas靠机场的区域，送孩子上私立 (3) Davis， (4) West Sacramento 的新建小区。 |

（1）woodland听说治安不太好，有帮会啥的，听着吓人，而且看了一下，公校基本没
有好的。上私立是个好建议，但是孩子会不会没有好的华人社交圈（这是我自己瞎琢磨
的，因为现在在农村，我们这个小区没有其他中国人，孩子在家说中文，英语不行，明
显自己玩得多）
（2）Natamas听说是新建的区，说是比较闭塞，我看公校都差，难道都住的退休养老的
人？或者条件好的全上了私校，这次也想去考察一下。
（3）Davis好是好，就是太贵，房子也旧，超出我们的budget。
（4）W Sac没有看，我现在就看看去。
