Recently the Supreme Court upheld UT-Austin’s program for increasing
student diversity partly based on race. We support this action to give
students of different race have "equal" opportunity to receive education.
However, we also noticed the extreme racial unbalance in sports leagues like
NBA and NFL. Asians are especially under-represented in these sports
leagues. We noticed that NFL has implemented policy to interview black
coaches first when hiring coaches. As Asian American we love sports and got
irritated that these leagues don't recruit more Asian players. We want the
government to pressure these leagues to implement affirmative action to
recruit players based on race so that there are equal percentage of Asian
players in these leagues. Asian kids' opportunity counts.

前几天美国最高法院判决支持德州大学在录取过程中考虑种族因素，在华人圈子里掀起
了轩然大波。无独有偶，在加州，“亚裔细分法案”AB-1726已经在众议院和参议院都
被通过，只差被州长通过。华裔在教育方面被权益被无视、利益被割让了太多！现在甚
至 Affirmative Action (AA) 的手都伸向了硅谷的高科技公司了，现在有众多公司开
始响应号召开始在就业方面也要考虑种族因素、增加黑人、墨西哥裔的数量了！（见《
在美华人好日子到头？最高法院支持“教育平权” 高科技公司响应奥巴马号召搞“就
业平权”》）
我们必须发出声音，让白宫、让美国人听到我们亚裔的声音！
现在有一个绝好的机会，一个讽刺性请愿：在著名白宫请愿网站 We the people 上，
有人发起了一个请愿，号召 NBA (美国职业篮球协会)、NFL (国家美式橄榄球联盟) 在
选拔球员时需要考虑种族平权，扩大亚裔在其中的比例！ | M*******n

不过nba和nfl跟前几天那三十个公司更有可比性，都是private business，
公校是政府fund的，所以法官更有发言权一些
