Juniper Networks executive Naren Prabhu was identified as the victim of a
fatal shooting that occurred in San Jose on Wednesday night.
San Jose Police chief Eddie Garcia held a press conference with reporters on
Thursday when he confirmed that Prabhu, Juniper Networks' vice president of
engineering, and his wife were shot and killed Wednesday night outside of
his San Jose home in the neighborhood of Willow Glen.

Prabhu had been an executive at Juniper Networks' Sunnyvale campus for 14
years, according to his LinkedIn profile. He first began working for the
company in 1998 at its Mountain View campus. Next year would have marked his
20th anniversary at the company.
The suspect is an ex-boyfriend of Prabhu's daughter, whom Garcia said had a
history of domestic violence and mental illness. The suspect was shot and
killed at the site of the incident.
“San Jose PD got a call from the adult son of the victims saying a suspect
had shot his parents,” Garcia told reporters on Thursday. “When officers
arrived at the home on Laura Valle Lane they saw an adult man deceased in
the front doorway suffering from at least one gunshot wound."
"Juniper Networks is deeply saddened by the recent loss of a longtime
employee," the company said in a statement released to the press on Thursday
. "We are focused on supporting our employees and their families through
this difficult time."
Employees told CBS San Francisco on Thursday that they had just seen him in
the company's dining area the day prior. "He was a good person and a very
good human being," co-worker Shahid Ashraf told the television network. "
Today, we came to know about the incident... It's very sad."
Prabhu's Linkedin profile shows a compliment from a past co-worker who
praised his integrity. "His passion for the company and his team is
unquestionable," reads a comment from Christopher Baker, who listed himself
as having worked with Prabhu at Juniper Networks. "His integrity and
authenticity allows him to build trusted relationships that are truly
admirable. I would welcome the opportunity to work with him again." |
