I can second this recoomendation too. A very good
book (tho. I have to admit that it is kind of difficult
for me to understand - I have no physics background).

dont know how to spell his name in english. i read it
for a lot times in secondary school. almost all ppl
i know who have read this like it very much.

1.电磁卷in Berkley Physics Course, the other volumes are also
good, but not as good as this one. 中译本for this one is
really good.
2.Feynmann Physics Lectures. Hard to believe it is just a
lecture note! Really deep physics thinkings and brilliant ideas.
中译本是shit,好多句子还是英文语序.
3.Goldstein, Classic Mechanics. 虽与Jackson,席夫,共列为
物理留学必备,但比另两本好的多.
4.牛顿,自然哲学的数学原理. 只读过某中译本的一小部分, really
杰作!!! 好多论题可能我们当中绝大多数仍不会算.
再对Dirac那本量子力学原理说两句, 目前的量子力学教材基本都是
抄这本, 比如席夫,而曾谨言则是兼而抄之(both Dirac and Schiff).
可惜大家抄来抄去连Dira

Yes, I think so.
He made very important contribution to the formation
of Quantum Field Theory. I would rank him as comparable
to the few most outstanding physicist of our century,
like Pauli, Feynmann, etc. If I didn't get it wrong,
this great guy's first major is not physcis, but
somthing engineering. This is really amazing.

me too, it's really a good book.
There are also two books edited by Scientific Americans: <<从惊讶到思考>>
and <<啊哈!灵机一动>> which I enjoyed a lot when I was a kid.
