Universe". It mentioned a presist who was the first
to conclude a dynamic universe where a day exists before
which there was no yesterday (like the Big Bang).
Einstein admantly denounced the idea of a dynamic universe
(of which the presist's is a version) until Hubble's
evidence supported such a universe.
Forgot about the guy's name tho. |

He is Lematire, I don't know what is "dynamical universe". I think
the debate was about expanding universe.

Apparently, Einstein realized the problem with gravity (as Newton did):
the universe may eventually collapse by its own gravity. to counter act
that, he had to introduce a constant, and as a result, believed that
the universe has to be static (non-revolving).
Lematire, however, utilized the dynamic/non-static nature of the
model to prove that somehow the universe was created (Lematire,
after all, is a mathematician and preist) with the backing of
the Church.
now my question:
How about the thoug

Then what about the situation after all the contracting parts contracts to zero?
What's wrong with a expanding universe? why it should be static?

not sure. but how about matter being transported from the contracting
parts to expanding parts (through some weird mechanism)?
nothing wrong with it. It is just Einstein was wrong on assuming
a static universe (and he admitted it as one of his biggest
mistakes). Most people today believe the universe is NOT static.

I don't think Lematire himself ever tried to prove that the Universe was
created, although he is a priest, he never tried to mix science with his
religion. Also, he is not the first one to find non-static universe. Before
him, the Russian Friedman also found it.
The idea that some part of the Universe is expanding while other parts
contracting, and those in some dimensions Universe expanding while other
dimensions static or contracting, had been proposed and studied.
