It's called microarray in English. The chip contains thousands of small dots,
each of them is a DNA probe can bind to a specific sequence. Sample and
control are labeled by different fluorescent dye (red, green), and hybridize
with the probes. So the gene expression level will be the ratio of red/green
fluorescent light. It's equivalent to finish thousands of northern/southern
blots in one time.
