There are still over 20-30 scientists who are working on developement
of some alternative theory of QED. They are in MIT. and many the top schools.
Look at their publication regarding alternative of QED, they still appears
in those decent journal.
If you know QED very well, then you know lots of things really look
very strange, or even you can say it is ridiculous (personal feeling).
Lots of very critial constant actually were obtained by fitting.
