designing, developing, implementing, documenting and maintaining systems
applications.

Responsibilities and Deliverables:
•Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, documents and maintains
applications systems, working on moderately complex to highly complex work
tasks or project assignments.
•Gathers, analyzes and translates business and non-functional
requirements into a solution design.
•Manages tasks, estimates resources, establishes timelines and
prioritizes work.
•Designs, develops to specifications and maintains application code.
•Manages work assignments according to current project methodologies
or as directed.
•Prepares required documentation for the portion of work assigned.
•Provides technical assistance and problem resolution for assigned
systems.
•Coordinates with vendors for problem resolution and change requests.
•Ensures that applications changes follow change management policies
and procedures.
•Prepares periodic and ad hoc status reports for each assignment for
department manager and project manager.
•Identifies and provides recommendations for system process
improvements.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
•5+ years engineering experience / strategies for complex systems.
•Strong OO Design skills
•Up to date Experience with Java EE technologies (Servlet, JSP, JSF,
JTA, JDBC, etc)
•Strong experience with ORM frameworks (prefer Hibernate)
•Experience with Dependency Injection frameworks (Spring, Guice, CDI,
etc)
•Experience with Unit Testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG) and Mocking
frameworks (EasyMock, Mockito)
•Experience with modern IDE (Eclipse, Netbeans)
•Solid knowledge of source control systems (SVN, CVS) and Continuous
Integration systems (Hudson, Cruise Control)
•Familiar with the following a plus: Maven, Struts, Websphere
Application Server
•Ability in all phases of technical writing for information or
infrastructure systems.
•Ability to participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 service
requirement.
•Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
•Retail industry experience a plus. |
