—An Introduction to Seattle Chinese Chorus & 2011 Annual Concert “Longing
for Homeland”
Seattle Chinese Chorus (“SCC”) is a nonprofit association registered in
the state of Washington in spring 2010.
SCC now comprises 55 members with basic to advanced voice trainings and
dedication to choral singing from the Greater Seattle area.
SCC is pleased to present its first open concert entitled “Longing for
Homeland” on September 24, 2011 at 7:00pm. Our audience shall enjoy the
evening with the melodies of over a dozen of mixed choruses, male and female
ensembles, solos and instrument performances of great Chinese and Western
music in popularity.
Since its inception, SCC has proudly become part of several major community
performances, such as “Beautiful Guangxi,” “Spring Charm” as well as “
AGlimpse of China” held in Seattle Center. SCC has won a broad praise and
recognition in Seattle. SCC has recently been selected as one of the few
prestigious recipients of a grant from Bellevue City Arts and Culture
Committee.
September 24, 2011 will become an unforgettable day for all SCC members, for
all those who love and care about SCC. We will be honored to have you as
our distinguished audience. Please join us to taste the vintage of homemade
wine and to feel the calling of our longing homeland through the song of
music springing out of our hearts.
